For those interested in pursuing advanced technical diving certifications, there are several options available. TDI has Intro to Tech, Advanced Nitrox & Decompression Procedures. PADI has Tec Trimix & Deep Diver courses. Advanced diving techniques are introduced in the TDI Advanced Nitrox course for recreational Nitrox divers. The course covers equipment usage, gas switching, and advanced emergency techniques, such as lift bag deployment. You can find more information on the TDI site.

TDI Intro to Tech course

The TDI Intro to Tech Course is a standalone training class that can help you increase your recreational skills and deepen your technical knowledge. It can also be used as a gateway to TDI’s more advanced courses, like Advanced Nitrox (Decompression Procedures) and Advanced Nitrox (Decompression Procedures). Alternatively, it can serve as a refresher for those who have already taken technical courses. During the course, TDI technical instructors will be able to assess your skills.

The TDI Intro to Tech course is for divers who have never used twin cylinders or a wing. It also covers advanced buoyancy control and gas management. Students will also develop situational awareness, as well as trim skills. You can take the course in open cenotes or at sea, which offer similar conditions to swimming pools. You will also learn advanced gas planning techniques. This course is designed to improve your open water diving skills and introduce you to the technical equipment configurations. You will also learn how to use advanced gas planning techniques. This course is not for decompression, but you can use enriched air-nitrox mixtures during it.

Course on TDI Advanced Nitrox & Decompression Procedures

TDI Advanced Nitrox & Deco Procedures training prepares divers for accelerated decompression. During this course, students learn advanced gas planning and management techniques to ensure that their dives are as safe as possible. Students will also learn how manage their equipment and plan ahead for any eventualities. The TDI Advanced Nitrox and Decompression procedures course includes four dives to a maximum depth 40m (130ft).

This course can be taken either as a standalone or in conjunction with an Advanced Nitrox or Decompression Procedures certification. Advanced Nitrox and Decompression Procedures classes are performance-based and last for four days. Sixteen dives are required and two of the dives must be below 30 meters. The course is customized to each student's experience and their individual requirements. This course prepares students for advanced technical diving, including wrecks in Scapa Flow and the UK.

PADI Tec Trimix course

PADI Tec Trimix90 is the final stage in the PADI Technical Diver circuit. This certification opens up the possibility to go deeper into the ocean and discover places no one else has. This course is only suitable for highly experienced tec divers who want to extend their range and explore deeper environments. Trimix certification requires a valid driver's license and a medical exam. Two 30cf stage bottles are required and a mask.

PADI Tec Trimix 65 Divers must have logged at the very least 350 dives. The course also includes technical diving techniques. There are multiple teaching scenarios. It is the most advanced course for technical diving certification. It is important to remember that the requirements for technical diving certification are more challenging than those of the PADI Tec Diver program.

PADI Tec Deep Diver course

The PADI Tec Deep Diver certification is a more advanced course for recreational divers. This certification covers four dives, including a practice of safety stops and descents. The technical diving equipment you use, such as a side mounted cylinder and EANx, will be practiced. You'll also learn about how to plan a deep dive and manage your gas supply. You can take lessons online or offline with the PADI Tec eLearning Program.

Unlike the previous PADI courses, this program can be completed in two years. First, you'll need to get a Tec 50 diving certification from an authorized organization. The qualification must cover technical deep diving as well as decompression dives up to 50 meters and pure oxygen diving. The Tec 50 diver training may be offered by the PADI Course Director who conducts the Tec Deep Instructor course. Upon completion, the PADI Instructor Course Director will issue a Tec Deep Diver Certification.
