Bob Hollis
Bob Hollis, who is a pioneer of the sport of scubadiving, is a local legend as well as a member of International Scuba Diving Hall of Fame. Hollis began diving in the 1950s, and he became interested in underwater photography. This new hobby required specialized equipment. Hollis, who holds an engineering degree, developed his own housings to fit underwater cameras. Hollis founded Anchor Shack, an underwater camera shop in Hayward, California, in 1965. Soon, he began receiving mail orders about his housings.
Oceanic
The Hollis Scuba Oceanic brand is one of the most iconic and well-known names in scuba diving. The company was founded in 1972 by Bob Hollis and has since been synonymous with high quality diving equipment. Products include dive computers, rebreathers and new diving masks with heads up displays. They are also responsible for the development of military diving gear, including the MK-25 used by US Navy Navy frogmen as well as other naval work divers.

Recalled dive computers
Hollis has recalled two dive computers. One of the flaws in them can lead to drowning. A faulty air flow control system in the recalled dive computers could lead to a diver losing control of their underwater breathing. These dive computers were purchased between November 2010 to July 2012 for around $1200. The defective units can be returned directly to the manufacturer or dealer for repair.

The Hollis Scuba Warranty protects your investment by ensuring that the equipment meets your expectations. It is valid for recreational scuba as long you take good care of it. Hollis can exchange your equipment or provide a refund if there are any problems. This warranty does NOT cover shipping and handling. Furthermore, if you use your new equipment for military or commercial purposes, your warranty will be null and void.
