
The SSI Mermaid Certification can be obtained online. This means that you can complete it whenever you want and anywhere you are. There are two parts to the certificate: a practical portion and an online part. You can either complete the online portion from a computer or laptop. Or you can use your smartphone or tablet to take the practical section. The SSI App is available for both iOS and Android devices.
JODYPRATT
JODY PRATT is a PADI Mermaid Instructor and a certified SSI Instructor Trainer. She was just 16 when she started diving and has since earned numerous Specialty Instructor Ratings. She loves water and takes open water classes. JODY has also been certified as a Technical Rescue instructor trainer.

Michelle Forsbrey
A keen surfer and swimmer, Michelle Forsbrey is passionate about the water and loves the sea. She fell in love with the ocean and beaches, so she purchased a mermaidtail to aid her rehabilitation. She attracted the attention of both parents and children when she wore her mermaid tail at a local hotel swimming-pool.
Try Mermaid Experience
You are either a long-time mermaid dreamer or simply curious about the experience, then you're in the right place. SSI offers a Try Mermaid opportunity that allows you swim underwater in mermaid fins. This is a great course for beginners. It will teach swimming underwater safely, using mermaid tail fins, holding your breath underwater, and more. After completing your Try Mermaid course, you'll receive $15 towards your full certification.
Rusty
Rusty was raised in New Orleans but was born in Atchafalaya Basin. It is the largest swamp in America, with 22 parishes. He has deep respect for the unique cajun culture because he has lived in the swamp. In addition to diving, Rusty enjoys cycling, underwater photography, and spending time with his family.
Niki
Niki Dawson is a successful female entrepreneur, a professional scuba instructor and a creative wedding planner. She loves to travel to different parts to dive. Micronesia (Australia), the Caribbean, Africa and the Western Pacific are some of her favourite dive spots. While she loves diving, Niki loves exploring every part of the world.

Evi
Evi, a mermaid instructor/performer, teaches mermaid-tail swimming. Evi's first mermaid academy opened in March 2018. Since then, hundreds of guppies have learned to swim with her tail. Evi and Naomi competed at the World Mermaid Championship. Her goal is to help kids enjoy the water while being reef safe.
