DAN offers several programs to divers. It also has a medical insurance plan that covers transport and emergency care. It also gives members the latest information on recreational diving. Members have the ability to access educational and medical resources and products. They also get notification about emergency situations and other important information.
Insurance to cover a diving accident
DAN diving accident insurance protects members against financial losses resulting from an underwater accident. The cost of membership for an individual is $35, and for a family it's $55. The DAN can also use it to do research on safety diving and provide emergency medical aid. Although it is not necessary to be a member, it is worth considering before you dive.
DAN offers divers insurance that covers a wide range of risks. You can choose from a variety of coverage plans depending on your needs. If you live more than 50 miles from your home, some plans will also pay for medical evacuation.
Project Dive Exploration (PDE)
The DAN and DAN USA teamed up in the early 2000s to create the PDE Database. This database contains information on recreational air and mixed gas. The PDE database currently has 137,451 profiles. These data are gathered from field work, laboratory studies and other research activities that aim to improve dive safety.
PDE is an acronym for Project Dive Exploration. You can share your profile information if you are a DAN diver to help the charity. To be eligible for the drawing, all you have to do is dive for five minimum dives between May 28th & September 3rd 2007. Divers who complete 10 dives or more will receive a commemorative t-shirt.
