Advanced technical diving certifications can be pursued by many people. TDI offers Intro to Tech, Advanced Nitrox, and Decompression Procedures courses. PADI offers Tec Trimix as well as Deep Diver courses. Advanced Nitrox training is offered by TDI to recreational Nitrox divers. The course covers equipment usage, gas switching, and advanced emergency techniques, such as lift bag deployment. You can find more information on the TDI site.

TDI Intro Tech course

The TDI Intro to Tech Course is a standalone training class that can help you increase your recreational skills and deepen your technical knowledge. It can also be used as a gateway to TDI’s more advanced courses, like Advanced Nitrox (Decompression Procedures) and Advanced Nitrox (Decompression Procedures). Or, it could be used as refresher material for people who have already completed technical courses. During the course, technical instructors at TDI can assess your skills.

For divers who have never dived with twin cylinders or a wing, the TDI Intro to Tech course will be helpful. It also covers advanced gas management and buoyancy control. Students will also gain situational awareness as well as trim skills. The course can be taught at the beach or in cenotes with similar conditions as swimming pools. Advanced gas planning techniques will be taught. This course is intended to enhance your open water diving skills, and to introduce you the technical equipment configurations. Advanced gas planning techniques will be taught. The course is strictly non-decompression. However, you are allowed to use enriched nitrox during the course.

PADI Tec Deep Diver course

PADI's Tec Deep Diver certification offers recreational divers more advanced training. This certification covers four dives and includes a practice of safety stops as well as descents. Additionally, you will learn how to use technical diving equipment such as a side-mounted cylinder or EANx. Additionally, you will learn how to plan deep dives and manage your gas supply. You can choose to take your lessons online, or offline. The PADI Tec eLearning course allows you to work at your own pace.

This program can be completed in just two years unlike the PADI courses. First, you must obtain a Tec 50 diver certification from an approved organization. The qualification must cover technical deep diving as well as decompression dives up to 50 meters and pure oxygen diving. The Tec Deep Instructor course is also offered by the PADI Course Directors. Upon completion, the PADI Instructor Course Director will issue a Tec Deep Diver Certification.
